Ophelia Cole - Admin, Marketing and Communications
Ophelia, a dedicated advocate for community development, hails from Freetown, Sierra Leone, where she was nurtured in a diverse environment that celebrated collaboration among various tribes and religions. Growing up with parents who were educators deeply influenced her commitment to uplifting others and guiding them toward fulfilling lives.
Holding a degree in management, Ophelia serves as a local councillor, in addition she holds Executive positions in other local organisations which focus on community development, providing support for residents and fostering a deeper understanding of Sierra Leone’s rich arts, heritage, and culture.
As a passionate advocate for cultural exchange, Ophelia actively presents Sierra Leone’s art and traditions across various forums, promoting awareness and appreciation of her heritage while facilitating connections with other cultures. Her professional background in adult social care and independent advocacy empowers her to support the elderly and vulnerable, ensuring they have a voice in accessing essential services.
As the Founding Director of Action Speaks c.i.c, Ophelia works tirelessly to foster cultural understanding and collaboration within communities. She organizes youth and family clubs, communal events for national celebrations, and leads day trips that encourage residents to connect and share experiences. Additionally, she runs a community café twice a week which serves as a welcoming space for residents to socialise and give support to one another.
Ophelia is driven by her belief in empowerment, she is dedicated to helping others realize their full potential and build a vibrant, inclusive community.
